SEATTLE (AP) — A man who was denied a liver transplantbecause he used marijuana with medical approval to ease the symptomsof hepatitis C has died. read more | digg story Well, at least Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA) has introduced (HR 5843) bi-partisan legislation aimed at removing federal restrictions on the individual use of marijuana. This is a good thing. We the people need to call our Congress men and women and our representatives to demand that they support this bill.Co-sponsoring the bill are Reps. Ron Paul (R-TX), Maurice Hinchey (D-NY), Dana Rohrabacher(R-CA) and Sam Farr (D-CA).Please read the press release from Rep. Frank’s website below: Read the rest of this entry »Just got the latest flyer from my friends over at 420bay.com. Cool site. Show them some love and post a listing or two. 1.That we are banks.Just like any other business, we have to manage cash flow and inventories. Most drug dealers thrive on the “velocity” of these transactions. When someone asks for a front, not only has he lost the inventory, but also the money that could come from it NOW. We don’t want to get a FICA score on you to do business. Fuck You and Pay Me should be the mantra; especially when dealing with a retail level consumer. 2.That we are vastly different from any mainstream business. The goal is to profit. There are fixed and variable costs. The cost of moving cargo and the cost of electricity has affected all of us. Get ready for pricier pot and booger sugar that ain’t doin’ what it used to. We do inventory management, accounting, marketing, sales and all kinds of other work like bullshit. The 20th one I might add. I will provide a full debreifing upon my return. Photos, videos, the works. Stay tuned. I was just over at a friends house and watched the new Michael Moore movie “SiCKO” and what an amazing movie/documentary. Sorry for not going to the theater Mr. Moore, but I promise my word of mouth and the upcoming purchase of the dvd will do more than pay for what the Weinsteins had to put up. I feel very compelled to spread the word about the powerful messages this documentary tries to present us. I cannot stress the need for every American, actually, everybody in the world…period, to go see this. I just keep shaking my head in disgust when I think about the utter destruction of our healthcare “system”. It is systemic and comes from the top down. Truely un-nerving. Although this is my blog, I feel I really need to keep my opinions out of this and just hope that I can inspire friends, family and ultimately anybody that comes across this website , to go see “SiCKO.” I hope that “SiCKO” can be a catalyst for some serious change. I can still dream as an American right? Thats still free or do I need to see if it is covered? Anyway…go see this flick even if “Kaiser” won’t cover you.
How scary is this. You go to buy some nugs and next thing you know…fingerprint please. WTF? If you read the article, you can see that there are some reasons as to why they are doing it, but it still seems real big brotherish to me. The measures are aimed at ensuring the rules of the Netherlands famed tolerance policy are not violated, which could lead to shops being closed, said Marc Josemans, chairman of the Union of Maastricht’s Coffee Shops. “This is not something that we are doing willingly, but with pain in our hearts,” Josemans told The Associated Press in a telephone interview Wednesday. He said shops in Rotterdam and several Dutch border cities were considering following suit. “We’re very afraid we’re going to lose customers over this, and to be honest we’re even a little ashamed we’re doing it, but the City of Maastricht has such harsh punishments that we don’t feel we have any choice,” he said. Marijuana is technically illegal in the Netherlands, but cities may license shops to sell no more than 5 grams (less than a quarter ounce) per customer per day. The shops may not sell to anyone under 18, nor permit drugs other than marijuana or hashish on the premises. Since Maastricht Mayor Gerd Leers took office in 2002, police have strictly enforced the rules, and shops found in violation are automatically closed for a minimum of three months for a single infraction, six months for a second offense, and permanently for a third. As a result, 11 of Maastricht’s 26 licensed shops have been closed, leaving just 15 open. Josemans, who is also owner of the “Easy Going” coffee shop, said the electronic system would be tested at his store Aug. 1 and used by all licensed stores by September. Fingerprints would be coupled with a digital photograph and a scan of customers’ ID cards — removing all personal information except date of birth — and then stored on a computer system at the shop. When a customer wants to buy weed, he will have to prove that he or she is of age, and has not already purchased the 5-gram limit that day at the same store. Kudos to Virgin Airways and Richard Branson for opening this movie up to many faces. Sorry to be political, but I think every American should at least watch Loose Change 2 Anyway this is from the Virgin website : LOOSE CHANGE 2: Warning: Contains disturbing scenes. Was 9/11 a government set up? You decide. Everyone’s talking about it so we thought you’d like to see the film that started out as a home movie and became one of the most downloaded documentaries of all time. Was 9/11 a government set up? Were the twin towers brought down in a controlled explosion for an insurance payday? These questions and more are posed in this controversial film, seen by millions, derided by many. Now it’s your chance to make up your own mind. My friends over at Weedoscope. Best thing since clear papers…seriously. Anyway, Team Weedoscope finally had the chance to post something up on YouTube. It has been over a decade since California voters said it was OK to use marijuana medicinally and now, for the first time, The California State Board of Equilization is TELLING close to 200 medicinal dispensaries to pay sales tax. Now I see patients having to almost pay 10 percent more for the same bag of weed. It is the patients that always get the short end of the stick. Pass it along to the customer, right? The State BOE ultimately decided that medical marijuana was not exempt from sales taxes because it was not dispensed by a pharmacist or approved by the Food and Drug Administration as a medication. So here comes the sticky part, some say this is a great way to legitimize the medical weed biz, BUT some see it as a way for the feds to get information against the medi-dealers. To be legit or stay rebel? That is the question. Here is another crazy wrinkle in all of this…the taxman can go after back taxes. Up to EIGHT years. Might cost a pretty penny to go legit. Nothing is ever easy. I think if Cali doesn’t go after back taxes, most will come forward. It is a way to legitimze, but also it is California setting the benchmark for the nation. Legitimate tax paying medicinal dealers. Once California sees the revenues from this stuff, they might defend it even more. Cash talks like nothing else. Pay the piper and move forward. It will strengthen medicinal weed in the long run. Do some strategic thinking here folks. Great headline. Too bad there is no substance. In a nutshell, The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday the discovery of a marijuana garden that contained $16 million worth of plants and led to the arrest of two San Jose residents for allegedly tending the garden. Get this, the two that they arrested were 19 and the other a minor. WTF?? The Sheriff’s really think they got The Guys? Poor kids. The authorities seized 8,127 marijuana starter plants as well as piping, chemicals, fertilizers and a full camp set-up with a week’s worth of supplies. So 2 kids + 8k in non-flowering baby plants + fertilizers + hoses to water the babies + camping equipment = 16 million dollars??? Read the rest of this entry »
