It is hard to fathom all the time, money and other resources we have used so far in the war on terror and especially on the war in Iraq.  What has it gotten us?  The tragic loss of American and Iraqi’s alike,  a breeding ground for more “terrorists”, and an unhappy American population.   The reason why I bring this up is to draw a comparison to the “war on drugs.”  Something that Nixon started many decades ago.  Why aren’t we talking about ending this war?The drug war has had many casualties, cost billions of dollars a year, and yet we continue to accept defeat (depends on where ya stand.)

I think it comes down to the business of it all.  In both wars, many stand to profit.  The bullet makers to the prison management software companies.   We build prisons for our drug enemies and prisons, like the new multi million dollar one in Cuba, for our terrorist enemies.

Is there no money in peace?

There musn’t be, because we would be exploiting it if it had profit.
